My partner was just rear-ended on his way to work.
It sounds minor, but there’s some damage.
Ok, this can stop now please.
ETA: here’s the pic he sent me. Minor, but still.
The person behind him was rear ended and pushed into his car.

Oh come on, WTF? Does look like a new cover, panel, and some clips should fix it hopefully?

Well , give him a hug when you see him. Damn.

Ouch. My coworker got plowed yesterday too. No one is paying attention whil e driving these days. I sit real high in the promaster and can see right in cars and at least half are playing on phones during rush hour..

You are NOT having good luck with cars this week.

Well at least the damage is only limited to the bumper...

I only read this part of your comment:
“My coworker got plowed yesterday”
And then I did a google image search on that statement and I found this:

The back panel usually takes a bit of damage along with the frame end flange. All easily repairable, new rebar, absorber and bumper and you’re set.
Nothing structural besides the rebar and it’s a bolt on part.

When it rains it pours. It seems like this shit always happens at the worst time. A similar thing happened to my wife except it was hard enough to total her car just when we were trying to buy a house. At least everybody was ok at both accidents?

You’re probably right - it always takes a little more than it appears. As long as it doesn’t go past that bolt on structural bumper the cost won’t be too bad.
That’s a very new car, IIRC, too.

I think so. I'm hoping it'll be a quick repair since this is our only car now.

Yeah, no one is hurt. It just sucks because he loves this car and he’s been having a rough time of it lately.
Honestly, his is way more of an inconvenience than mine was. I barely drive mine anymore because of my work vehicle.

LOL, I SE what you did there. But I'm a good Sport.

I brought him cookies and a cold drink, too.

Nope. Think I'm gonna stay inside for the rest of the weekend.

Fortunately it was just collateral damage for him and he wasn't the main impact.

Ma ybe this is a rule of threes thing. Best not to drive again until someone else has an accident.

It is, this was our third . I had a fender bender in my work van earlier in the week that was so minor it did almost no damage to either car. The scratch to the other guy's rental car was so small that the rental company basically blew it off, and the dent to my bumper cover popped right out and you can barely tell. 3 mph crash > 40 mph crash.

Good, you're safe now.

Isn’t that car only a few months old, too?
SMDH...

Yup. Bought it in February.
